A Sax for your Event?

I'm a highly-recommended professional solo saxophone & clarinet player based in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area, and have played at all kinds of family celebration and other events/functions:

Weddings - in terms of music, you might not have thought beyond booking a band/DJ for your evening but think about your wedding service/ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast etc. Please see the Weddings Page for ideas and more information. I featured on the CD  with the Jan/Feb 2015 issue of BRIDES Magazine (see below) - a great endorsement!  .

Wedding Anniversaries - I've played for both Silver and Golden Anniversaries, including ballroom dances

Birthday Parties - I've played for both young and old, from a 16th to a 106th!

Christenings - often mum and dad have 'their' special song, and it's always an emotional moment when that's played

Retirement Parties - in common with the other events I play, your personal choice of music makes your party extra-special

Pubs/Restaurants/Hotels - I often play for guests and diners, sometimes a classy mix of cool jazz and oldies, but also including chart material, music from my International selection and even party dance hits if required

Corporate/Civic - I've played for company events, and also the prestigious Lady Mayoress' Annual Ball in Skipton

Here are some positive reasons to book TIM CLARKE - THE SAX MAN

  • Widely-experienced - not only have I played a vast array of events, I've played ALL stages of a wedding-day – including the all-important romantic first dance (and an entire evening when the DJ's speaker blew up!)

  • Excellent recommendations – some examples are below, but see the Testimonials page

  • Favourable Prices - I charge for each stage of your day, not  rather than per hour

  • Versatility – the sax, with top-quality backings, has an authentic sound for ALL types of music – from Classical to Rock.  You don't get that with any other option: piano, guitar, string quartet, harp, or even a singer, whose strengths lay probably in only a couple of types of music

  • No less than 800+ songs/pieces of music for you to choose from

  • Firm friendships - I'm good friends with many of my previous clients, which I think speaks volumes

I was brought up on big band music and jazz, and I have 40+ years experience playing in many types of band. I also direct a clarinet choir in Ilkley, Yorkshire and have composed and arranged music for bands since my teens. Together with an ear for today's music, these are all threads which enable me to offer an amazing repertoire of music and an accomplished performance which will not just leave you satisfied, but delighted!

For ease of selecting music for your Event, my so
ngs/pieces of music are categorised as follows:

  • Beautiful Melodies – not only well-loved classics but also other ... beautiful melodies
  • Chart Hits - from the 1950s up to today's sounds
  • Music from the Movies – including Disney, Shrek and the top musicals

  • Rock & Roll – let your feet do the talking!
  • Soul & Motown - from the classic 60s groups to the Blues Brothers, The Commitments etc.
  • Jazz & Swing – jazz standards, cool jazz, the Rat Pack and other crooners
  • Vintage – 1920s-40s songs for a Gatsby or Wartime theme
  • Irish & Scottish – well-known pieces from our Celtic neighbours for St. Patrick's Day, New Year's Eve etc.
  • International – tunes you'll know from Europe and beyond

  • Klezmer – traditional Jewish music from Eastern Europe
  • Miscellaneous – including strict-tempo ballroom dances
  • Christmas – carols mixed with festive chart hits and seasonal standards
The current list of tunes is available at the time of your booking; with any enquiry I'll send you a condensed list to give you a taste of what's available, then the full list when you make a booking.  If there are other songs which you'd like, I will purchase a backing track and sheet music (there is a small charge for this service).

The music was ALIVE! It added dimension to our 21st "Great Gatsby" party. Tim went out of his way to prepare the playlist, cover traditional Swing hits and moved the tempo up a few gears to get people up and dancing after the meal. Great attention to detail which resulted in a wonderful atmosphere. A fantastic sucsess.Susan Higson (21st Birthday party)
